As usual, initially you will start the adventure with just one Pokemon. After that, you have to fight with various other Pokemon to create a team of 3 Pokemon.
The adventure area is indeed chosen by you alone as a trainer, but during the adventure, Pokemon will fight alone. You can take over when they have to make special moves, but that doesnt change things much in the situation.

Each level takes about 2-3 minutes. In it, your Pokemon will fight with various kinds of Pokemon that come in turns. Each level is different but mostly consists of 3-4 battles.
If you manage to defeat some of the enemy battles before, then you can fight bosses that are marked by Pokemon with a bigger body than the others. If you lose, then your Pokemon will turn into a ball and after a while can live to fight again. If you are unlucky and no more pokemon yours is alive, then you must choose between willingly leaving food ingredients, or using TM points that can be reproduced using real money.
